History of Jiu-Jitsu:

The Roots of Jiu-Jitsu go back over 2000 years and are deeply embedded in Japanese history.
In the year 23 B.C. Momi-no-Sukune, killed his opponent using a combination of kicking techniques in what is considered the first Martial arts contest ever recorded. This was the beginning of the combat Sumo in which the origins of Jiu-Jitsu lie.

Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art developed by the warrior class (bushi) of Japan. As a part of the classical bujutsu, it is defined as the art of flexibility. Historically, Jiu-Jitsu is the single most important Japanese's martial art because the modern budo systems of judo, aikido, hapkido, nippon shoinji kempo and some systems of karate-do all have their roots in Jiu-Jitsu.
